Top 3 Success Habits That You Must Develop

Top 3 Success Habits That You Must Develop
By Shawn Lim

Do you want to be successful? If your answer is a yes, this is the right place for you because you will discover the top 3 success habits that you must develop in order to be successful in your life. Many people thought that success is about being lucky or talented. But it is not, being successful is all about habits. If you possess the success habits, you will live a successful life.

Every decision you make and every action you take in your life is affected by your habits. If you are someone who hates to take risk, you will never make any investment. Even if you do, you will never stay calm and miss the right opportunity. Therefore, if you want to be successful today, develop these top 3 success habits now...

1. Develop the habit of goal setting. By writing down what you want to achieve in your life, you will make your dreams into a more tangible form and you will also activate the law of attraction. Your goals will keep you focus in your life and direct you into the direction of where you want to be. Successful people know exactly what they want and they set a clear goal to achieve it. Therefore, you must do the same to get what you want.

2. The second success habit you must develop is the habit of taking consistent action each and everyday. Without action, nothing is going to happen. It is useless if you read a book teaching you how to cook but you never put the knowledge into use. You need to take action to make what you want to come true. Success will not come automatically. It is by taking consistent action that you will eventually get what you want in your life.

3. Last but not least, you must develop the success habit of constant and never-ending improvement. Commit yourself to wake up 1 hour earlier and read a book in your related field. If you do this consistently for a few years, you will be able to become the top 5% in your industry. The moment you stop to learn and improve, you will stop to grow. Successful people learn all the time by reading materials related in their field. You must do the same.

These are the top 3 success habits that you must develop in order to be successful. As long as you follow through and put in commitment into doing it, you will definitely achieve what you really want in your life.
Do you want to make your dreams and goals come true in a simple, easier and faster way? Are you really serious to live the kind of lifestyle you desire and do you want to be more successful? With all the Success Strategies that I provided in my blog, you will be able to achieve anything you want in your life...without sweat!

The Fifty Success Habits

So I thought that I might write a quick review of every self-help book ever written all right here in this one little post. Simple enough. I love the easy jobs. Surely it couldn’t be that hard, could it? I figured that maybe I could take the important lessons from every self-help book I’ve read and every life experience I’ve endured, condense all that into fifty key points and save everybody a whole bunch of reading time. Sure, global book sales in the self-help field might take a down-turn for a decade or so, but I’m willing to take that chance and put in a solid sixty minutes (or so) work for the good of humanity; my gift to mankind.

Selfless I know.

I thought that perhaps I could follow Stephen Covey’s lead (the Seven Habits) and come up with my own list of say… Fifty Habits (in truth, some of them are more qualities, than habits). It couldn’t be too difficult to distill all those millions of words, tens of thousands of books and that vast well of information, inspiration, wisdom and insight which has been collated over the centuries into one teensy-weensy post by the ex-fat kid right here on medotcom. Who else could be better qualified?

Don’t answer that.

Habits of successful people….

1. They look for and find opportunities where others see nothing.

2. They find a lesson while others only see a problem.

3. They are solution focused.

4. They consciously and methodically create their own success, while others hope success will
find them.

5. They are fearful like everyone else, but they are not controlled or limited by fear.

6. They ask the right questions – the ones which put them in a productive, creative, positive mindset and emotional state.

7. They rarely complain (waste of energy). All complaining does is put the complainer in a negative and unproductive state.

8. They don’t blame (what’s the point?). They take complete responsibility for their actions and outcomes (or lack thereof).

9. While they are not necessarily more talented than the majority, they always find a way to maximise their potential. They get more out of themselves. They use what they have more effectively.

10. They are busy, productive and proactive. While most are laying on the couch, planning, over-thinking, sitting on their hands and generally going around in circles, they are out there getting the job done.

11. They align themselves with like-minded people. They understand the importance of being part of a team. They create win-win relationships.

12. They are ambitious; they want amazing – and why shouldn’t they? They consciously choose to live their best life rather than spending it on auto-pilot.

13. They have clarity and certainty about what they want (and don’t want) for their life. They actually visualise and plan their best reality while others are merely spectators of life.

14. They innovate rather than imitate.

15. They don’t procrastinate and they don’t spend their life waiting for the ‘right time’.

16. They are life-long learners. They constantly work at educating themselves, either formally (academically), informally (watching, listening, asking, reading, student of life) or experientially (doing, trying)… or all three.

17. They are glass half full people – while still being practical and down-to-earth. They have an ability to find the good.

18. They consistently do what they need to do, irrespective of how they are feeling on a given day. They don’t spend their life stopping and starting.

19. They take calculated risks – financial, emotional, professional, psychological.

20. They deal with problems and challenges quickly and effectively, they don’t put their head in the sand. They face their challenges and use them to improve themselves.

21. They don’t believe in, or wait for fate, destiny, chance or luck to determine or shape their future. They believe in, and are committed to actively and consciously creating their own best life.

22. While many people are reactive, they are proactive. They take action before they have to.

23. They are more effective than most at managing their emotions. They feel like we all do but they are not slaves to their emotions.

24. They are good communicators and they consciously work at it.

25. They have a plan for their life and they work methodically at turning that plan into a reality. Their life is not a clumsy series of unplanned events and outcomes.

26. Their desire to be exceptional means that they typically do things that most won’t. They become exceptional by choice. We’re all faced with life-shaping decisions almost daily. Successful people make the decisions that most won’t and don’t.

27. While many people are pleasure junkies and avoid pain and discomfort at all costs, successful people understand the value and benefits of working through the tough stuff that most would avoid.

28. They have identified their core values (what is important to them) and they do their best to live a life which is reflective of those values.

29. They have balance. While they may be financially successful, they know that the terms money and success are not interchangeable. They understand that people who are successful on a financial level only, are not successful at all. Unfortunately we live in a society which teaches that money equals success. Like many other things, money is a tool. It’s certainly not a bad thing but ultimately, it’s just another resource. Unfortunately, too many people worship it.

30. They understand the importance of discipline and self-control. They are strong. They are happy to take the road less travelled.

31. They are secure. They do not derive their sense of worth of self from what they own, who they know, where they live or what they look like.

32. They are generous and kind. They take pleasure in helping others achieve.

33. They are humble and they are happy to admit mistakes and to apologise. They are confident in their ability, but not arrogant. They are happy to learn from others. They are happy to make others look good rather than seek their own personal glory.

34. They are adaptable and embrace change, while the majority are creatures of comfort and habit. They are comfortable with, and embrace, the new and the unfamiliar.

35. They keep themselves in shape physically, not to be mistaken with training for the Olympics or being obsessed with their body. They understand the importance of being physically well. They are not all about looks, they are more concerned with function and health. Their body is not who they are, it’s where they live.

36. They have a big engine. They work hard and are not lazy.

37. They are resilient. When most would throw in the towel, they’re just warming up.

38. They are open to, and more likely to act upon, feedback.

39. They don’t hang out with toxic people.

40. They don’t invest time or emotional energy into things which they have no control of.

41. They are happy to swim against the tide, to do what most won’t. They are not people pleasers and they don’t need constant approval.

42. They are more comfortable with their own company than most.

43. They set higher standards for themselves (a choice we can all make), which in turn produces greater commitment, more momentum, a better work ethic and of course, better results.

44. They don’t rationalise failure. While many are talking about their age, their sore back, their lack of time, their poor genetics, their ‘bad luck’, their nasty boss and their lack of opportunities (all good reasons to fail), they are finding a way to succeed despite all their challenges.

45. They have an off switch. They know how to relax, enjoy what they have in their life and to have fun.

46. Their career is not their identity, it’s their job. It’s not who they are, it’s what they do.

47. They are more interested in effective than they are in easy. While the majority look for the quickest, easiest way (the shortcut), they look for the course of action which will produce the best results over the long term.

48. They finish what they start. While so many spend their life starting things that they never finish, successful people get the job done – even when the excitement and the novelty have worn off. Even when it ain’t fun.

49. They are multi-dimensional, amazing, wonderful complex creatures (as we all are). They realise that not only are they physical and psychological beings, but emotional and spiritual creatures as well. They consciously work at being healthy and productive on all levels.

50. They practice what they preach. They don’t talk about the theory, they live the reality.

So there you have it, your days of reading self-help books are done!

Okay, maybe not. I may have missed a few. Feel free to add a habit or two of your own to the list.

Discover the 5 Keys to Habit Changing Success

LESSON #1 -
Discover the 5 Keys to Habit Changing Success
In today's lesson, I'm gonna introduce you to the The S.M.A.R.T. HABITS-Building System. This is a simple system you can use to quickly start a successful habits-building program…

S –
Start small
M –
Motivate yourself
A –
Accumulate positive habits
R –
Resist impulses
T –
Track it

And it's the same system we use to teach the members of MySmartHabits.com more than 52 success habits with great success.

http://www.mysmarthabits.com/1.html

Let’s talk about each step in more details…

S – START SMALL

We all want to improve ourselves and our place in the world. Sometimes radically. However, implementing "radical change" isn't always practical for people facing multiple pressures. It’s not like we can suddenly stop being parents, employees or employers, and running the household while we put all our improvements in place!

So how do you implement change and still continue to function day-to-day?

By implementing small, easy improvements every day. This will put you on a continual path of bettering yourself and your situation.

While the daily improvements you make will be simple, over time they will add up to a radical transformation.

This is how change happens – step-by-step. And that is our approach in this program, slow and steady will win this race!

M – MOTIVATE YOURSELF

If you think you can break old bad habits, and build new positive habits easily, think again.

The fact is that good habits are hard to form, but easy to live with. Bad habits, on the other hand are easy to form, but hard to live with.

But don't panic. My job is to make sure you breeze through this journey smoothly and with a lot of joy.

My point here is, you need to put yourself into a high motivation status (and stay there) in order to achieve success. This training program has been designed to make sure you stay:
Focused
Motivated
Disciplined

A – ACCUMULATE POSITIVE HABITS

The concept of short-term success or big changes is great, but short lived. For a long-term success, you'll need to take small, constant steps on your way to create successful change and improvement.

Slow and steady wins this race. Remember this always. By the end of this 12-month program, you'll realize how much you've grown, changed and improved. How much closer you are to living the life you want to live. If doesn't happen overnight, but it will happen!

For you to develop positive habits, you'll need to:

Build positive habit #1
Build positive habit #2, while keeping habit #1 too
Build positive habit #3, while keeping habits 2 &1
And so on…
Got the idea?

This approach guarantees a low-pressure change, quick short-term
success and most importantly, huge future success!

The good news is that the habits you'll be develop over the course of the next 12 lessons support each other. Each habit builds upon the next.

R – RESIST IMPULSES

Let's be honest…

If you are a human being, then you will face temptation to return to your old bad habits. It's easier to stay in your comfort zone.

Unless you're a Robot or having an iron-like self-discipline, then it's normal to slip sometimes or find it difficult, especially at the start.

The solution? We need to make sure that you…
Catch yourself when you feel that impulse
Kill that temptation before it escalates
Sharpen your self-discipline
Remember what I said before? "Unless you're a robot or having an iron-like self-discipline, then it's normal to slip sometimes or find it difficult, especially at the start."

Well, considering that you are NOT a robot :), then your only choice is to develop an iron-like self-discipline. And you definitely can.

So get prepared for that! Self-disciplined is the best gift you can give yourself.

T – TRACK IT

Finally, you will need to keep track of your progress with those positive habits. You'll need to take notes, clarify any difficulties you faced in order to adjust your approach accordingly. As you know by now, you need to accumulate good habits overtime. So, it's not a surprise that after, say 3 months
you'll be tracking 12-15 new positive habits in your life! What about 6 months? 24-30 new positive habits in your life… and so on.

This part can be handled by simple paper trackers or software, more on this later.

That's it for today's lesson, we still have a lot to cover in the coming days & weeks :)

If you have any questions at all, please let me know. Click here to open a support ticket.

I. Crystallize Your Thinking

Determine what specific goal you want to achieve. Then dedicate yourself to its attainment with unswerving singleness of purpose, the trenchant zeal of a crusader.

II. Develop a Plan for Achieving Your Goal and a Deadline for its Attainment

Plan your progress carefully; hour-by hour, day-by-day, month-by-month. Organized activity and maintained enthusiasm are the wellsprings of your power.

III. Develop a Sincere Desire for the Things You Want in Life.

A burning desire is the greatest motivator of every human action. The desire for success implants "success consciousness" which, in turn, creates a vigorous and ever-increasing "habit of success."

IV. Develop Supreme Confidence in Yourself and Your Own Abilities

Enter every activity without giving mental recognition to the possibility of defeat. Concentrate on your strengths, instead of your weaknesses...on your powers, instead of your problems.

V. Develop a Dogged Determination to Follow Through on Your Plan, Regardless of Obstacles, Criticism or Circumstances or What Other People Say, Think, or Do.

Construct your Determination with Sustained Effort, Controlled Attention, and Concentrated Energy. OPPORTUNITIES never come to those who wait...they are captured by those who dare to ATTACK.

Becoming A World Changer

Becoming A World Changer

by Ian Paul Marshall

Unleashing The Power Within You

© Ian Paul Marshall

“A new species is arising on the planet. It is arising now, and you are it!”
~ Eckhart Tolle

Here’s some interesting facts…

81 percent of people polled in a global survey done by the Center For Work-Life Policy said that their careers are affecting their health in a negative way. 59 percent of them said that their relationships have suffered. And 50 percent of the people polled went so far as to say that even their sex life was worse because of the stress they experienced on the job.

Is there more to life than killing ourselves working at a job that we hate?

People from all over the world believe there is. Even going so far as to think that it’s time to really change the collective direction where humanity is heading. You’re one of the courageous souls who has answered that call and I am eternally grateful to you for that.

People from all over the globe, irregardless of color, country or religious background are awakening to the universal language of love.

Humanity is opening is itself up to a new dawn.

A brilliant awareness is emerging within each and every one of us.

We’re reaching a moment of clarity where we’re finally accepting our own divinity and choosing to take responsibility for our own lives and the world in which we call home.

If we become quiet for but a moment we can feel deep within ourselves something stirring. That a global awakening is coming. Beyond our everyday lives we know that the next step in our evolution is fast approaching.

Humanity as a whole is starting to tap into the universal matrix of creation itself and we’re truly beginning to see and understand the true inter-connectivity of us all.

We’re all being presented with an amazing opportunity now. Humanity is coming to a point in it’s evolution where a major change is possible. But that change has to happen within ourselves. We have to become the change we wish to see within the world.

It’s my hope that this article, Becoming A World Changer, will help you unleash the amazing power within you. For you are amazing and there is a magnificence within you that’s beyond anything that you can imagine.

The 7 World Changing Wisdom Keys

World Changer Wisdom Key 1: Changing The World Happens One Person At A Time and That Change Starts With You!

World Changer Wisdom Key 2: We all have a Purpose to discover.

World Changer Wisdom Key 3: Everything You Do and Don’t Do Does Matter.

World Changer Wisdom Key 4: Commitment is Crucial.

World Changer Wisdom Key 5: 100% Responsibility.

World Changer Wisdom Key 6: Your Time is Now!

World Changer Wisdom Key 7: Shift From Me to We.
World Changer Wisdom Key 1…Changing The World Happens One Person At A Time…and that change starts with you!

Major change always happens with the people. One person at a time. Choice by choice. Word by word. And ultimately thought by thought.

So as we hold the thought of a new world within our minds slowly and surely it’ll appear within our world.

This is the major realization that is taking root within the collective consciousness. Gandhi pierced through the veil when he said, “We must become the change we wish to see within the world.”

So if it’s Peace that you want to see in the world be Peaceful. If it’s joy then be joyful. If it’s healing then spread healing energy. If it’s abundance then begin to see the world as abundant.

Whatever it is that you believe the world needs more of BE THAT!!!

Be Peace Be Love Be Healing Be Joy Be Abundance Be Supportive Be United Be Wise Be Awakened

Think to yourself what a peaceful person would do. How would they speak? How would they stand? How would they react to the world?

Once you can see, know and feel how that person would be then become that. Be that person!

BE THAT PEACE! BE THAT PRESENCE!

This process has to start somewhere and that place is hidden deep within our own very hearts and minds. Salvation is not going to come from the heavens or by a single chosen person. These thoughts place all the power outside of our grasp.

This type of thinking is being put to rest because we’re beginning to realize that… heaven is here on earth, that we’re all extraordinary and we all have been chosen.

Remember always that, “We’re the people we’ve been waiting for. We’re the miracle we’ve been wishing for. We’re the answer to our own prayers. We’re the dream of which we want to live.”
World Changer Wisdom Key 2…We all have a Purpose to discover.

“A soul with purpose found is the light by which the world is guided.” ~ Ian Paul Marshall

So many people have a feeling that there’s something more they can be doing with their lives. It’s a deep knowing that sleeps within their hearts. And that’s where it usually stays.

The problem is that most individuals wait for some heavenly sign or divine inspiration before they do anything substantial with their lives. And maybe a chosen few truly inspired folks do receive some type of message; some unmistakable calling.

But how the answer comes for most of us is that we actually have to take some time and hunt down our purpose in life.
The first step to discovering this purpose is to realize that we all have a purpose.

You have a purpose. You have a reason to be alive. A reason and purpose that you have chosen for yourself. Your responsibility is to uncover it. You must look for the clues that are hidden all around and within you.

They’re there, waiting for you to unlock the secret mystery of your life.

Understand that nothing is meaningless. Nothing in this life is without reason. Nothing without purpose. Without purpose you wouldn’t exist.

Everything in the universe has a purpose. The life force that flows through everything also flows through you. That flow seeks expression. The expression that is to be made manifest through your hands, words, and your dreams.

So start now to realize and know that you have something that the world needs.

There are unique gifts and talents that you possess.

You must begin to share them. To express them. To explore them. And when you do the whole world will be better for it.
World Changer Wisdom Key 3…Everything you do and don’t do does matter.

Realize the power that is within you. You are powerful.

Your former thoughts, words and actions have become your present state and right now, in this moment, you’re creating the future.

Understand this awesome power that you have and make your deepest prayer be to realize your supreme potential in the liberated free-play of consciousness. In this vast expanse, so that you may inspire others to do the same.

You have been given the keys to the kingdom. Nothing has been withheld from you. Stop holding yourself back from the awesome magnificence that sleeps within you.

Take control of your life. It’s a gift. A blessing. Embrace your power and potential.

Within your mind is the master key that unlocks all the doors of possibility.

Come into alignment with the highest vision of your life and what it can be. Then picture it, feel it, speak it, and bring it into existence.

“I believe it so I’ll see it.” is the new paradigm.

Let your life be an example of that truth.
World Changer Wisdom Key 4…Commitment is crucial.

The world doesn’t need hobbyists. Part-time peacemakers. People who flip-flop from one moment to the next. This will get us nowhere.

People committed to a purpose is always the driving force of change.

You don’t have to be eloquent, good looking or have a giant bank account to make a difference within the world. But you do need to be committed. Determined to develop the best of yourself and express that perfection in every moment of your life.

Commitment will push your through the hard times. For it’s a personal pledge to continually recognize the power within you no matter what the external circumstances of life may be presenting themselves as.

For you know and understand that all outward manifestations are but the final result of inwardly held beliefs.

So hold firm to the best of yourself. And this awareness can and will fill you with strength and determination.

You know what the end result is; peace, prosperity, happiness and you will press on. You know where you’ve been and you have chosen the where your going. You will get there!

One step at a time.

One day at a time.

One thought at a time.
World Changer Wisdom Key 5…100% responsibility.

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.” ~ Anthony Robbins

Responsibility is not a duty or a task that needs to be done. Responsibility is not a burden to bear or a sacrifice that we need to make. Responsibility is not something that should be feared or avoided.

When we embrace responsibility, accept it deep within our core, we tap into an eternal supply of power and inspiration.

For the true essence of responsibility gives us a glimpse into our own inherent strength. Once we come to know and understand this wellspring of power that’s available to us we begin to take action for the sheer joy of it.

You have the power to wield your thoughts and actions in accordance with a higher law. A higher purpose. You and you alone have the ultimate choice of how you will respond to the circumstances and people that you encounter along your journey to ultimate realization. To ultimate truth. To ultimate power.

Never think to yourself, “What can I do I’m only one person?” All great change starts with an individual who decided to make a difference. That person can be and is ultimately you.

You don’t need anyone’s permission or blessing to start to change. All that’s needed is for you take your life to the next level by using it for the benefit of others. Here’s a little story I like that drives home the power of responsibility:

The Starfish Story – adapted from The Star Thrower by Loren Eiseley (1907 – 1977)

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”

The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”

“I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.”

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, “But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!”

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, “I made a difference for that one.”

You can make a difference in someone’s life.

You can make a difference within the world. You probably already have. Look around you now and see what’s the next thing your going to touch and turn into gold.

“You are not Atlas carrying the world on your shoulder. It is good to remember that the planet is carrying you.” ~ Vandana Shiva
World Changer Wisdom Key 6…Your Time is Now!

Don’t wait for everything to be perfect or for the stars to align. Begin now to make a difference in your life and within the world today. In this moment. There may be no tomorrow.

Life rewards those who take action. Who press ahead. Waiting for things to be just right will leave you paralysed on the shores of your own island of doubt and fear. Let go and set sail into the awesome experience of your life lived with purpose.

Change is messy. Change is motion. Change is life giving you the chance to start anew.

Be brave. Move ahead and bring awareness to the movements of the moment. You’ll never have all the answers. You’ll never know the whole story. So find peace with that now.

Embrace the uncertainty and let it fill you with the exhilaration of existence.

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ~ T. Roosevelt

Leave behind the could haves and should haves and enter into the world of what I’m doing now and what I’m going to do next.

Have fun with life. Keep moving forward. Take what you learned today and apply it to the next opportunity.

The music’s playing. Life is waiting for you to get off the wall and start dancing.

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” ~ Mother Theresa
World Changer Wisdom Key 7…Shift From Me to We.

“I know that we’re all one. I’m another you. You’re another me. Me is transformed into We and we’re all in this together. So I reach out my hands and care for all of life. I embrace all the world knowing that I have truly touched the very essence of my own existence.” From The Call of the New Paradigm

If there’s anything that this information age has done for the world it really has shown us that we’re all connected.

The internet is but a metaphor of humanities Oneness.

Oneness is the awareness that is slowly emerging within the global psyche.

We’re beginning to realize that we are one with each other, the planet, and the source of existence however you call it.

This realization is making it easier for people to come together. Community is the new buzz word. No longer do people want to hide themselves away from the world. We are now starting to embrace all of existence.

This connectivity is compelling us to seek out meaningful connections within our lives. Within our cities. Our neighbourhoods. And even within our homes.

And the changes that we’ve made for ourselves will first be felt within our homes. Then we can ripple that energy out to our neighbors. Then throughout our cities. Then our countries. Then all over the world.

When we look at the root meaning of community we can have a glimpse into what’s emerging within our minds. For community’s root meanings are, fellowship, union, common ownership.

Remember that the change to come will only happen by and through us. People like you and me. Individuals who feel compelled to live a life filled with love, oneness and purpose.

By embracing our own power we show others a reflection of the power that sleeps within them.

So do what you can with the gifts and talents that you possess each and every day. Think not of each morning as a new day but as a fresh start and a new life.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, you shall begin it well and serenely…” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Before our time together like this is through I’d like to share with you something that I wrote called the Declaration of Awakening. It’s a great way to start your day.

Thank you again for everything that you do.

Peace, love, and many blessings for you, your family and your friends.

Be inspirational!

DECLARATION OF AWAKENING
by Ian Paul Marshall

I AM.
I am awakened!
I have now awakened to the magic of my life, this present moment
and the divine connection I have to all of existence.
I live, breathe, and have my being within a living field of unified consciousness.
My heart is aflame with love, joy, and compassion
and my hands reach out to touch and care for all of life.
I affirm that all the people of the world are created equal
and divinity is the true nature of our being.
I accept responsibility for my life and use the power of my thoughts wisely
to consciously and lovingly create creation.
I have a purpose in life, I believe in miracles and I strive to release
the awesome power and potential that is within me.
I accept abundance, joy, health, and peace
as my natural and complete state of being.
I am a unique expression of the One True Source of All
and I allow others to enjoy the unique experience that they are
creating for themselves.
I am certain that heaven is truly here on earth.
Life is beautiful, perfect and exactly as it should be.
I am awakened!
And so it is.
OM

A BLESSING FOR ALL

May it be that in this moment you know that everything is One.
May your heart be set aflame with love and passion.
May you see the magic that is all around you.
May you awaken and live the dream that sleeps within you.
And may the only trace of your presence here on this earth
be found within the hearts of all.

5 Keys To Success

5 Keys To Success From Steve Jobs

Everyone’s looking for a magic bullet to propel them to success. But success is no easy road. It’s not even a straight line. Success is a tricky matter. Hard to pin down. Not that easy to define.

Have you even thought about what success means for you?

Success can mean a lot of different things depending on who you ask.

So why not ask for the keys to success from someone who’s REALLY successful?

Someone like Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple. One of the biggest success stories of the last decade.

Well I didn’t get a chance to interview Steve personally but I did come across an interesting bit of advice that he had given outlining five keys that lead to success.

“Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drowned your own inner voice. And, most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” Steve Jobs

Let’s look at these success strategies a little deeper…

5 Keys To Success

You’re Running Out of Time – Use It Wisely
Steve Jobs channels Buddhist monks from all over the world for this piece of advice. We barely ever really think about how little time we have on this planet. That within a blink of an eye everything could be gone.

The Buddha recognized this fact and used it as one of his motivations for enlightenment.

Don’t wait for tomorrow because tomorrow may never come.

Start right now, in this instance, to work on your success.

Dreaming of it. Crafting it. Creating it.

Don’t wait for the kids to go off to college, the stars to align, or until everything is just right.

Don’t Live Someone Else’s Life
If you truly buy into Steve’s first key to success. Or you’ve recently had tea with the Dalai Lama and he swayed you to the dark side of realizing that we all have a fixed amount of time, then why would you waste it living someone else’s life.

You’ve got dreams of your own. They may have been beaten into silence, but you know they’re still there. Waiting patiently for you to remember them. To nurture them. And have the courage to share them with the world.

Break Free From Dogma
According to wikipedia: “Dogma is the established belief or doctrine held by a religion, ideology or any kind of organization: it is authoritative and not to be disputed.”

I don’t mean to come back to Buddha, but he had this to say about Dogma, “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

Is Steve Jobs Buddhist?

He seems to be really channeling him so far.

Have the courage to be yourself.

What are your dreams?

What do you want?

What make YOU happy?

Dive deep into the mystery and miracle of who you are. There’s never going to be another person like you on the face of this planet. EVER.

Think about that for a second. Embrace it. And get on out there and discover who you are.

Ignore Other People’s Opinions
Abraham Maslow said that the happiest people are the ones that are, “Oblivious of the good opinions of others.”

Now I don’t think Mr. Jobs is saying to steer clear of wise council. It’s good to have other people perspective on things. And I’m sure that apple has a lot of geniuses, clairvoyants and witch doctors to help Mr. Jobs divine the future.

But there’s a lot of people out there who will tell you that it can’t be done. Or you’re not the right person for the job. Or some other form of baloney.

Thank them for their concern and keep pressing on with your dreams.

Listen and ask for the opinions of people who have more experience than you. But keep far away from dream stealer’s.

Follow Your Heart
So often we choose to ignore the “still small voice within.” We get that gut feeling. We know something is up.

We hear our dreams calling out to us but for whatever reason we suppress them, ignore them, and shove them down deep inside.

Maybe we’re trying to keep up with Jones’. Maybe we buy into the “get a good job, keep your head down, and work hard” story they sell us in school.

Whatever the reason the truth is when we stuff those dreams away and lock them deep within our hearts we suffer.

Silently we ache. An agony most of us take quietly to our graves.

The only cure is to dream again. To follow our hearts. To go where life is calling you. To run through fields of wide open possibility.

A quote I love and have adapted slightly from Frederick Buechner is, “Success is found through marrying the worlds deep hunger with your hearts deep gladness.”

It’s no wonder that Steve Jobs has been successful.

So what do you want to be successful at?

To your success!
